Steven Crowder Says Girls In The Boy Scouts Are 'Appropriating' 'Male Culture'

Gender Wars

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints just announced that it would be ending is 105-year relationship with the Boy Scouts.

The Grand Teton Council of the Boy Scouts of America could lose 19,000 members in the next two years due to the LDS church's exit, according to Grand Teton Council Scout Executive Clarke Farrer. LDS was the first charter organization of BSA in 1913 and represents about 425,000 of the 2.3 million youth members today, or about 18 percent.

After the official separaration, slated for December 31, 2019, the Mormon church will create its own gospel-based youth program, FOX 13 reported. In 2015, the church raised concerns over the BSA's decision to lift its ban on openly gay troop leaders.

The church said it wants to explore global youth programs that can serve its members outside the U.S. The girls have their own pack separate from the boys, but they have the exact same responsibilities and achievements as the boys.

Through the evolution of its relationship with the LDS church and beyond, the BSA is well positioned to provide its character- and leadership-building programs to an increasing number of youth.

The GSMW release says Girl Scouts has been the premier girl leadership development organization and the girl expert for 106 years, and states there is no organization that more thoroughly understands the value of programming designed specifically for girls.

We also look forward to our future opportunities to work with community partners to further the mission of the Boy Scouts of America in Utah. The Mormon church continued expanding into far-off countries where Boy Scouts wasn't offered and began eyeing its own program. That includes gay and transgender scouts and more recently girls.

In fact, Rioch tells one story about an unnamed player who admitted he came close to ending his own life just minutes before. Wenger and Arsenal have been coy about what directly prompted his departure with a season remaining on his contract.

Twitter shared varied reactions to the news.

Individual Mormons who wish to remain part of the Scouts will simply be integrated into regular troops. And in 2017, it started allowing girls into more of its programs.

"It'll be a blow", said Mark Griffin, president of the Great Salt Lake Council, told the Deseret News.

Sure girls who join Boy Scouts will be able to use the same handbook and earn the same badges.

Last week, the Boy Scouts of America announced that their main scouting program would be renamed simply "Scouts BSA" and accept girls, as will its Cub Scouts program for children aged nine and younger.
