Jay Rodriguez celebrates after scoring the winner against Manchester
Speaking ahead of Sunday's visit of West Brom, where United need to avoid defeat to prevent their bitter rivals City from being mathematically crowned champions, Mourinho issued a challenge to former world-record transfer Pogba.
Sitting second to City in the Premier League, Jose Mourinho's side are now only one-point clear of third-placed Liverpool; although they do have a game in-hand on Jurgen Klopp's side.
"I have won titles, I would not be happy if someone said the title was won if someone loses a match". It is hard to speak about Manchester City for me, but what Pep Guardiola has done is unbelievable; to win the title with the football he plays is great.
It's not fair, for them.
Meanwhile, United manager Jose Mourinho makes two changes to the team that beat Manchester City in the last game, with Eric Bailly replaced by Victor Lindelof and Juan Mata coming in for Jesse Lingard.
Thierry Henry: I am not surprised with what Pep has done in this league and a year ago, I was one of the people saying stop having a go at the man because that's how he plays.
"It's incredible the way we played and I am so glad to be here and be part of this club", he said on the club's website. "In my opinion it affected for sure some of the people that were too happy just with that", he said. Probably because I won eight championships, I was not in the moon with the victory against them.
Mourinho was critical of his side after the defeat, per Sky Sports (h/t Jeorge Bird for MailOnline).
"They won because they were the best team, they lost only a few points".
"With my experience you don't titles with inconsistency".
He added: "Not just the performance level but the mental level, day by day, everything must be consistent, since day one until the last day so one of the things we have to improve is consistency".
Mourinho says they are deserved winners but the 55-year-old insists he is the right man to bring the trophy back to Old Trafford for the first time since 2013. Previous times, we almost threw it away and that was a feature of every season we won it.
