Apple is working on new touchless controls for its displays

It's unclear if Apple sees any additional benefit in ergonomics by going a different direction with its curves, or this is simply a measure meant to preemptively stop people from saying it copied Samsung. But Apple's long-lasting distaste for curved displays may be going the way of its hatred of big-screen phones - which was legendary back in the day before the first Plus iPhone launched. The iPhone X's OLED screen curves slightly at the bottom, but the shape is mostly invisible to the human eye. That technology is also at least two years off, Bloomberg says. A curved iPhone may be as little as two to three years away, the person said. Air Gestures were also implemented by Samsung years ago, where users could take selfies and perform other actions with just a wave of their hand.

The features could help Apple differentiate itself in a crowded market where phones generally look the same.

Apple's always been said to be working on new technologies to build into its lineup of iPhones, and today's report out of Bloomberg corroborates these rumors. Google has its own take on the tech, secretly experimenting with it within an initiative called Project Soli.

Trump Lawyer Pushed For Pardons Of Michael Flynn And Paul Manafort
Van der Zwaan got caught, faced charges for it, pled guilty, and is now awaiting sentencing in federal court in Washington. Flynn had accepted a plea, according to one of the people.

According to Bloomberg, upcoming iPhones could also detect touchless gestures right above the display.

The curved screens that Apple is working on are not similar to the ones that the company's South Korean rival, Samsung, has been using for its Galaxy-branded handsets. This new report is now predicting Apple will continue to push the boundaries of technology and make the relationship between users and their device as seamless as possible.
