Motorola Moto G6 And G6 Play Reveal Complete Specifications and Prices
The Moto G6 Plus is the most advanced phone in the G6 series.
In addition, while both models will feature a 5.7-inch "Max Vision" display, they will differ in terms of the resolution - in favor of the standard model.
Perhaps most significantly in terms of new details, retail listings posted (and since pulled) in the USA point to mid-May as a potential launch date - the main G6 is said to be shipping by May 10, so we shouldn't have much longer to wait.
As we have stepped into the second quarter of this year, it looks like it is time for the Moto G6 series of smartphones to be unveiled. The screen is going to offer a 1440×720 pixel resolution, and on the inside of the phone there is a 1.4 GHz, quad-core CPU, probably a Snapdragon 430. There will be an 8-megapixel sensor paired with a LED flash on the front and will have the Face Unlock feature too. The Moto G6 Play comes with a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The multifunction fingerprint sensor (a feature I love on the G5 Plus) is located on the front of the phone. On the inside, you can get up to 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Also coming up next is their Moto Z3 which is their 3rd generation smartphones to support its modular MotoMods. Its other features are Android 8.0 Oreo, single-SIM/dual-SIM variants, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, Global Positioning System and 3,000mAh battery with Turbo charging.
As a $50 price difference might suggest, these two phones are expected to be more similar than different overall, although there will be a number of fundamental differences between them.
The biggest phone of the lot is the Moto G6 Plus. We expect the company to opt for the MediaTek chipset for this device.
The "rapid-focus" 13MP rear-facing camera is highlighted along with a 5MP selfie camera. Its 32 GB and 64 GB storage models are respectively packed with 3 GB and 4 GB of RAM. This will be backed by 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB storage variants.
The Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus are keeping a bottom home button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner, but the Moto G6 Play drops the physical button and moves the fingerprint scanner to the rear of the device. As for the availability details, Moto G6 is expected to ship starting May 17, which hints at April launch of the phone.
