SpaceX Falcon 9's Iridium satellite launch is a triumph of recycling
The rocket lifted off at 7:13 a.m. PT Friday and arced over the Pacific west of Los Angeles.
SpaceX launched10 Iridium-5 Next satellites from its Falcon 9 rocket Friday at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. In fact, the rocket that shuttled Iridium's satellites into orbit today was used in the third Iridium launch back on October 9.
After first stage separation, SpaceX will attempt to land the first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket on land at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Landing Zone 1 or 2.
The satellites are part of an ultimate 75-satellite array being positioned for Iridium's "next-generation" communications system. This time too, Mr. Steven was unable to catch the bulbous nose cone when it splashed into the Ocean at the speed eight times greater than the speed of sound.
Elon Musk and his team over at SpaceX are celebrating another successful launch this morning.
The launch was originally scheduled for Thursday but was delayed because of an issue with one of the satellites, according to a Twitter post from the Iridium Communications CEO, Matt Desch. A total of eight Iridium NEXT launches are now planned with SpaceX delivering a total of 75 new satellites to orbit. During today's launch, the company will attempt to catch the fairing again.
"GPS guided parafoil twisted, so fairing impacted water at high speed", Musk tweeted.

A SpaceX engineer narrating Friday's launch broadcast told viewers the company was required by NOAA to cut the live feed early.
SpaceX did not immediately respond to Newsweek's inquiry about what would happen to the booster if it's not recovered. These Iridium launches have helped prove that the concept can indeed work, with Iridium becoming the first SpaceX customer to reuse Falcon rockets for its missions.
Indeed, SpaceX says it can't launch its proposed satellites during the legal time limit.
SpaceX now has United States permission to fly 4,425 satellites in a swarming constellation to deliver internet service to consumers below-more than tripling the number of active satellites in orbit around the earth. Doing helo drop tests in next few weeks to solve'.
