It's easy to be skeptical about the early 2019 target, and not just because of Musk's historically overambitious schedules.

"I'm very close to the cutting edge in AI and it scares the hell out of me".

When asked about the BFR, Musk said, "In the short term, Mars is really about getting the spaceship built, and we're making great progress". It learned by playing itself and can play basically any game after it's fed the rules.

Musk and Nolan closed out the session with a live rendition of "My Little Buttercup" from John Landis' "The Three Amigos", with guitar accompaniment by a cowboy-hatted Kimbal Musk. "We have to figure out some way to ensure that the advent of digital superintelligence is one which is symbiotic with humanity". He added, "Mark my words, AI is far more unsafe than nukes".

The most important thing Musk believes needs to happen is laying the framework for creating digital super intelligence, if humanity collectively decides that is the right move. "There's lots of things that are miserable and kind of get you down", Musk said.

Utica College remains on lockdown after 'credible threat'
A second message said: 'Continue to shelter in place until you receive instruction via UC Alert to do otherwise. WUTR reports there was a pair of phone calls threatening some sort of action at the college's science center.

"I think we will be able to do short flights, short up and down flights, probably in the first half of next year". Musk's been known to express concerns that AI could bring about the next World War and Sunday's Q&A was no different. Why send a auto into outer space?

There is "some probability" that there will be another Dark Ages, "particularly if there is a third world war", Musk said at the SXSW conference.

"I think it's unlikely that we'll never have a world war again", he said.

Musk went on to post the video in two parts on his Instagram, while also commented on Twitter that "Life can not just be about solving one sad problem after another".
