Marvel Chief: 'We absolutely' Will Make 'Black Panther' Sequel

Joaquin Phoenix

Black Panther's domination of the global box office continues, and China is the next country in Marvel's sights.

First and foremost, Feige immediately stoked the Black Panther sequel flames by confirming that the studio will "absolutely" go ahead with a sequel. "One of the favourite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a part one and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a part two".

Feige went on, saying that there's already been plenty of talk about what'll happen in Black Panther 2, and that there's "a pretty solid direction on where we want to go" with it.

Feige has the manner of someone who just placed a rather large bet and won; Black Panther had a larger budget than comparable Marvel films and Wakanda itself will be one of the major locations of the upcoming Infinity War.

Mostly sunny skies with a high of 63 in Boulder today
During lighter intensity late this morning, the snow will mix with rain in some areas closer to Interstate 95. The National Weather Service has also issued a coastal flood advisory from 2 a.m.to 6 a.m.

Despite the enormous popularity of the superhero movie, so far we're yet to see one that has impressed the voters of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences enough to secure a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards.

No word yet on a potential release date, Feige said. Currently, the Ryan Coogler-directed Black Panther is breaking records left and right and has disproved a number of old Hollywood myths. It's a balance between leaving people wanting more and then giving them too much, but I would watch a movie about any of those characters you just named.

If you're hoping for more diversity both on and off the screen when it comes to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this is the news that you're looking for. "These are the ones that are keeping us busy". Imagine the faux outrage if Black Panther does make it to that level, considering the discussion Get Out sparked. So we'll just have to be patient. Clearly, there is a metalhead in the design studio for this Black Panther merch.
