Amazon acknowledges Alexa has developed a random, creepy laugh

Amazon Echo which responds to voice commands and answers questions can now turn compatible lights on and off control fans heaters and other devices

Several users of Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa are saying it won't obey commands and instead, will burst into an evil or witch-like laugh. And it looks like the takeover is taking its first steps, because Amazon's Alexa-enabled devices are randomly and creepily laughing at us.

But Amazon was quick to acknowledge the defect in its device and has issued a statement that it is working on removing the defect. Few users on Twitter also wondered if the laugh is similar to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos or different!

Another user recalled sitting in the living room with his mother when all of a sudden, Alexa started laughing.

I live alone and have lights controlled by Amazon Echo. The answer could be "Sure I can laugh" and then the sound is played.

The online retail giant has become aware that the Alexa voice-activated Echo Internet-connected speakers have been having a laughing problem after the posts on Twitter and Reddit.

Disney The actor provided the the voice of a number of classic Disney characters including Beauty And The Beast's Cogsworth . He appeared in several Perry Mason TV movies in the 1980s, as well.

According to CNN, a statement released by Amazon confirmed the freaky bug and explained that an Echo may mistakenly hear an "Alexa, laugh" command.

"We got home and, totally unprompted, our Amazon Echo/Alexa started talking". It can also sometimes happen when you're in the middle of a "conversation" or activity with Alexa, which is still pretty creepy.

Some people have even begun to record the laugher and shared it only.

Responding to the reports, an Amazon spokesperson told Metro: "In rare circumstances, Alexa can mistakenly hear the phrase "Alexa, laugh". Audio recordings collected by an Alexa device have already been used as evidence in a murder case. "I'd rather it laugh at me tbh", tweeted user @HeyItsKamo.
