Seven Trent said it has restored supplies after an "unprecedented number of leaks" from pipes left parts of Rugby with low water pressure or no water at all - but it might not be over yet.
Overnight the company has found and fixed leaks and bursts across its 9,000 miles of water mains, and has taken staff off normal duties to concentrate all efforts on the task, as well as getting bottled water out to those areas which need it.
A tweet from the Dunraven School in Lambeth said: "We'd hoped things would have been resolved by now".
The companies said demand for water is exceptionally high due to multiple burst pipes and an increase in leaks following the recent freezing temperatures and rapid thaw.
'This preparation helped us reduce the time customers had either no water or reduced pressure.
South East Water has apologised to all affected and says it's working to resolve the issue.
