Scotland Yard are investigating a "white powder" sent in a letter addressed to Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle at Kensington Palace.

According to the statement, the package was accompanied by a racist letter.

The Metropolitan Police force said "a package containing a substance" was delivered to St. James's Palace, where Harry has his office, on February 12.

Detectives are investigation "an offense of malicious communication" related to the package.

It comes amid plans for high security for the couple's wedding day, which will take place at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle on Saturday 19 May.

Analysis of the powder found that it was harmless.

Oxfam Chief Asks Forgiveness For Sexual Exploitation By Aid Workers
Van Hauwermeiren, who left Oxfam in 2011 amid a sexual misconduct inquiry, has denied hiring prostitutes but said he had "intimate relations" with a woman who was "not a prostitute".

Prince Harry first confirmed his relationship with the American actress, who is mixed race, in November 2016 by issuing a strongly-worded statement about media harassment and racism against her on social media.

Police would not say who the envelope was addressed to but said tests showed the substance to be non-suspicious.

"Prince Harry is anxious about Ms Markle's safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her", Knauf said then.

An investigation has been launched following a possible "anthrax terror threat" against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

A second letter was reportedly sent to Home Secretary Amber Rudd's office at the Houses of Parliament, also containing white powder inside.

St James's Palace and Kenginston Palace have refused to comment.
