Google App Beta Gets Screenshot Editing Tools
So rather than thinking about "Android Pay" for in-store purchases, PayPal for one-tap shopping online, and Venmo for P2P payments, the idea behind this amalgamation is to position Google Pay as a one-stop-shop for all your transactions. Upon checkout, you'll be given the option to use said cards to avail discounts.
With the feature enabled, any time you take a screenshot within your Google feed or when using the Google app to search, you'll see a new popup at the bottom of your screen shortly afterwards. Both services were independent of each other and didn't have what it takes to compete with what their competitors had to offer, for example, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay. Say goodbye to Android Pay, because mention of it has been wiped from the Play Store and - once you update the app - from your phone as well. The app can also be used to pay for transit in select cities, such as Kiev, Portland, and London, with more cities to be supported soon. Then the new marks started rolling out more widely, as Google officially announced that it was unifying its payment branding. It also constitutes the service formerly known as Pay With Google, which is an API that allows merchants to offer a simpler way for online shoppers to enter their payment details at the checkout.
Longtime Android Pay fans, fear not: the features you love aren't going away. In the meantime, Google has, for some reason, rebranded Google Wallet as Google Pay Send, which will allow you to continue to send and request payments. If you're a developer, you can work with our processor partners and find all the tools you need on our developer site. According to Google, Google Pay is not working with iPhones.
