While Friday's close approach isn't a huge deal, Chodas reported that "this was a reminder that asteroids this size can pass very close to our planet and it's important to find these objects when they do get to close".

According to NASA, it will make its closest approach to Earth at 10:30 p.m. GMT (5:30 p.m. EST) today.

Another asteroid was spotted by the CSS on the same day which jazzed by Earth on Tuesday, February 6.

The asteroid was given the catchy name 2018 CB when it was discovered at the Catalina Sky Survey, a series of Nasa-funded telescopes in Tuscon, Arizon, last Sunday.

Ben Te'o preferred to Jonathan Joseph as England face Italy
Youngs was supposed to be celebrating his 56th start for England that took him past Matt Dawson's record at scrum-half. Looked a little out of sorts after time out because of injury.

Scientist had been tracking Asteroid 202 AJ129 for about a year and knowing all along that this medium sized space rock posed no threat to Earth.

Paul Chodas, manager of NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object Studies said, "Although 2018 CB is quite small, it might well be larger than the asteroid that entered the atmosphere over Chelyabinsk, Russia, nearly exactly five years ago, in 2013".

Asteroid 2018 CC zoomed past by at about half the distance between Earth and the moon, while 2018 CB will zoom past at about a fifth of a "lunar distance". The asteroid is approximately 1,000 feet or more than 300 meters across.

Apart from these two asteroids, another spooky asteroid named 2015 TB145, which is known as the Halloween asteroid because of its appearance, is going to fly by our planet this year. The other asteroid 2018 CC, during its close flyby on February 6, was nearly 114,000 miles (184,000 kilometers) away from Earth.
