The Surge 2 coming to PC and consoles in 2019

The Surge 2 is under development and planned for a 2019 release

Released during the spring of 2017, The Surge was a science fiction action-RPG that pulled inspiration from the Souls series of games. Our journey will now continue with The Surge 2.

In addition to the announcement and target release window, we've also been provided with a nice chunk of information about the upcoming game.

"The Surge 2 keeps what fans and critics loved about the original", it said, "while also expanding greatly upon the formula". The game was launched to mixed reviews and many felt that while it was off to a good start, there was room for improvement.

It'll include the same kind of character progression and limb-targeting system with multifaceted combat, with new ideas sprinkled in on top. As for the gameplay, players use some sort of futuristic exoskeleton, which can be customized through the game through upgrades, to battle enemies. With robotic or mechanically-enhanced combatants, the idea of targeting specific limbs and upgrading your shell set the game apart from similar games placed in a medieval/Victorian fantasy setting. "The Surge 2" is now in development for both consoles and the PC. The new title will have a new environment, it won't be based in the CREO factory like the first title, The Surge 2 will play out in a desolate city.

More details on The Surge 2 will be revealed at "Le What's Next de Focus", a yearly press event put together by the French publisher in Paris, so we should have more to share very soon.
