Pakistan's GeoTV quoted Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday as having confirmed that the arrested accused, Imran, is the murderer of seven-year-old Zainab and referred to him as a "serial killer".

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday formally announced the arrest of 23-year-old Imran Ali.

The Anti-Terrorism Court on Wednesday granted a 14-day physical remand of the suspect in the Zainab rape and murder case to police.

Five days later, her body was recovered from a garbage heap on January 9. I beg everyone that such fragile, sensitive, heart breaking stories shouldn't be politicized."When asked about the accusations that police failed to act on previous attacks on girls in Kasur, Sharif said: "I agree that there should be accountability for the previous seven girls who were attacked by this serial killer and rapist".

Prosecutor told the court today that the 24-year-old suspect used to lure children using eatables and rape them before murdering them.

Little Zainab's murderer was presented before Judge Sajjad Ahmad of ATC along with the initial report of the case. "I will request the political parties to support my wish", Sharif said. "If this is done, there will be no killing of children by any other beast in future".

Lebanese Prime Minister Steps In to Overrule Ban on 'The Post'
The matter has now been transferred to Lebanon's Minister of Interior and Municipalities, who could still overturn the decision. In 2006, it waged a month-long war against Hezbollah after the movement's fighters abducted two Israeli soldiers.

Zainab's father, Mohammed Amin, on television, demanded that his daughter's killer be hanged. He expressed satisfaction with the investigation. The post report reports said that she had been sexually assaulted multiple times before murdered before being dumped into a pile of trash.

Zainab was kidnapped earlier this month when walking to a Koran class, while her parents were away on a pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

The incident had sparked city-wide protests in Kasur and the Supreme Court (SC) had taken notice of the incident, giving the police 72 hours to find any suspects.

"He was arrested before, but was released as we did not have evidence". He said the suspect was arrested from Pakpatan district of Punjab.

Two protesters were killed in the clashes.
