Thousands of fans gathered at a Limerick church to bid farewell to a fallen star: one who had touched their hearts, who had touched the nation. Many carried daffodils and other yellow flowers, which they said represented sunshine.
Some of O'Riordan's songs played in the church while mourners gathered in silence, including former minister for defence Willie O'Dea and former minister for education Jan O'Sullivan.
Dolores O'Riordan will be buried next to her father in her family's plot at Caherally Cemetery when she is laid to rest on Tuesday [23 January], it has been reported.
Dolores' mother and her six siblings attended the event as did her Cranberries bandmates, who placed a floral wreath next to her coffin which read, "The song has ended, but the memories linger on". The religious O'Riordan wore black and held two pearl rosary beads.
Her funeral mass will take place at 11.30am on Tuesday in St Ailbe's.
The funeral service will be open to the public and broadcast on Irish radio, but the burial will be exclusive to family.
"Subsequently, the Met police attended and they determined the death to be non-suspicious", he added, as quoted by The Guardian.
