Report: Autopsy Shows Roy Halladay Had Morphine In System At Time Of Death

Halladay's body was found in about six feet of water and his blood alcohol content level was 0.01, according to the toxicology results.

The FDA said that more than 50 ng/nl of the drug used to treat insomnia, zolpidem (Ambien), can impair "driving to a degree that increases the risk of a motor vehicle accident".

Halladay was piloting his own private plane when it plunged into the Mexican Gulf a year ago.

Halladay died on November 7, 2017, while piloting his ICON A5 plane, which crashed into the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida.

Whether Halladay had prescriptions for these drugs is something we don't know.

Cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma and drowning.

An autopsy determined former Major League Baseball pitcher Roy Halladay died from blunt force trauma and drowning after the plane he was piloting crashed into the Gulf of Mexico Nov. 7. Halladay's blood tested positive for 72 ng/ml.

Investigators say Halladay was flying his ICON A5 over the Gulf of Mexico when the plane went down in the water about a quarter mile west of Ben Pilot Point in New Port Richey.

Halladay spent four seasons with the Phillies, winning the NL Cy Young Award in 2010.

The pitcher played for 16 seasons - the first 12 with the Toronto Blue Jays - before retiring in 2013 with the Philadelphia Phillies.

An eight-time All-Star, Halladay pitched a flawless game and a playoff no-hitter in 2010.
