The Gunners were already shorn of Mesut Ozil (knee), and Alexis Sanchez was omitted from the matchday squad as he reportedly nears an exit to either Manchester United or Manchester City.
Arsenal did take the lead after the break through a strike from Hector Bellerin as he was nicely put through by Alex Iwobi.
So which players disappointed most for the Gunners?
It didn't take long for Arsenal to finally find the net in the second half and the breakthrough came from Bellerin on 52 minutes.
Jordon Ibe then struck four minutes later to leave Arsenal reeling and mean that the Gunners have not now won in their last five matches in all competitions.
There were a couple of chances for either side in the opening exchanges, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles coming closest in the eighth minute - hitting the crossbar after a cross from Alexandre Lacazette fell to him.
Four minutes later it was 2-1, Ibe running onto Wilson's lay-off and firing home a fierce strike to open his league account for the club.
Undeterred, Bournemouth levelled in the 70th minute, a brilliant Fraser pass to the edge of the penalty area allowing Wilson to steer a sharp, first-time finish past Cech, who had charged off his line.
Wenger introduced Theo Walcott, another player who has been linked with a move away from north London, in an attempt to salvage something from the game.
It was a first Premier League win over Arsenal for Bournemouth, and a first victory against a top-six side this season that lifts Eddie Howe's team into 13th place.
With 20 minutes remaining Bournemouth found a deserved equaliser.
Ibe's goal ended his duck 18 months after joining from Liverpool, and Howe was delighted for the winger.
