Raiders to announce Gruden hiring next Tuesday

Gruden, 54, is set to return to coaching after an absence of almost a decade.

The Buccaneers went 12-4 in his first season and finished 57-55 with three playoff appearances in Gruden's seven seasons. He is their special teams coach and is expected to have the same role on Gruden's staff.

The Cincinnati Bengals may have managed to retain their long-tenured head coach, Marvin Lewis, but they will soon be in the market for another defensive coordinator-not that that is a new phenomenon.

Gruden reportedly is set to strike a deal for 10 years and $100 million to be the Raiders' next head coach, ESPN reported Friday.

Did N.Korean missile hit own city? By
North Korea launched an ICBM over Japan into the Pacific Ocean on September 14, and then again on November 29 of previous year . A missile test from North Korean failed and crashed past year into one of the rogue nation's own cities, a report has revealed.

Even with that said, however, this has the feeling of a farce to it, but then again, it would be the Raiders to be front and center in it. Gruden has vast football knowledge, but there is a good reason for his firing so many years ago.

TOM FLORES: Flores was replaced as Raiders coach following the 1987 season after winning two Super Bowls in his nine seasons with the franchise. He was sent to the Buccaneers in a rare trade of an National Football League coach by late Raiders owner Al Davis.

"I'm actually thrilled (about it) because Bob Myers and I had a conversation this morning and I said, "You know, Bob, Gruden's got one title and I've got two, ' Kerr said, a reference to the Warriors" two National Basketball Association championships compared to Gruden's one Super Bowl win with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers".

The NFL club took to Twitter on Saturday afternoon to offer its former coach a 'welcome back'. He came back in 2004 and had a 30-34 record in four seasons, leading Washington to two playoff berths. Overall, Gruden is 95-81 in 11 seasons. After Del Rio was officially let go, Schefter reported Gruden was next in line for the job. Shell had spent his first six years away from the Raiders as an assistant coach but had been out of the profession entirely for five seasons when Davis hired him a second time.
