Tiger Zinda Hai actor Salman beats SRK, Akshay in Forbes India Celebrity 100 list; Priyanka in top 10
This isn't the first time Salman has defeated SRK. Khan has unseated his actor-friend Shah Rukh Khan to become the top earning celebrity of 2016. According to estimates of the day 1 collection of the film, the romance-action-drama has been able to mint around Rs 36 crore at the box-offce. Salman has earned Rs 232.83 crore with several endorsements of consumer-facing brands. Akshay Kumar with R98.25 crore earnings was on the fourth spot. His last release Tubelight whose budget was Rs 135 crore, could earn only Rs 119 crore. She made ₹57.25 crore, thanks to the brand endorsements that came her way after her success at the Rio Olympics.
Next year's list is unlikely to see an major upheavals at the top - Salman's Tiger Zinda Hai released today and he has Race 3 on the 2018 slate. Thus, Salman is again the favourite to bag the top slot next year.
Following at a close second spot is Shah Rukh Khan with earnings amounting to Rs 170.5 crore.

Rajinikanth, who has 2.0 scheduled next year, is nowhere in the list, contrary to his number 30 position from last year. The Saat Khoon Maaf star, who raked in Rs 68 crore in 2017, stands tall at number seven. Dhoni fell from rank five in 2016 to eight this year with Rs 63.77 crore. This year he is at the sixth position defeating Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh.
