Awwww — 5-Year-Old Dials 911 To Warn Law Enforcers About The Grinch's Plan To 'Steal Christmas'!
TyLon Pittman, a 5-year-old MS boy, knew he was too little to take on the Grinch all by himself, so having identified the threat, he took action.
"The Grinch is not going to come steal your Christmas". A police department in MS received a 911 call from the boy, informing them that the anti-hero in the famed Dr. Seuss book was out to steal Christmas. That prompted a police officer to come knocking at his door.
Pittman's older brother, TeDera Dwayne Graves filmed Develle talking with Pittman, who explained he was watching a video about the Grinch and became afraid for the safety of his Christmas.
It was for that reason she went above and beyond to make sure TyLon felt that his Christmas was secure.
TyLon's mom said that her son wants to be a police officer when he grows up, and that the experience, while bringing people a little joy, was also a very meaningful one.
Brown said when she first heard that TyLon made a 911 call, she thought it was a joke - until Develle showed up at their front door late Saturday evening.
"Boy, you better stop watching so many cartoons!" he said as the police laughed.
"So what are you going to do if he tries to steal your Christmas?" The Grinch was even put in jail.
"I want y'all to come back to my house and take him to jail", TyLon replied.
Police were in the holiday spirit and played along, inviting Tylon to the stationhouse, where he got to arrest someone in a full Grinch costume and place him in a holding cell.
"It's the little things like this that go unnoticed, especially in society today, with what police officers do". Thank you to Officer Develle and BPD for not only making my little brother's day but for showing him that being an officer isn't just about stopping crime.
