Trump says he's not planning to fire Robert Mueller

President Donald Trump speaks to reporters
The transition team lawyer alleges that Mueller has obtained the the documents illegally.
Mueller's office got the records earlier this summer from the General Services Administration, the government agency charged with holding all transition materials, even while it was "aware that the GSA did not own or control the records in question", Langhofer wrote.
The letter, written by Kory Langhofer, counsel to the transition team known as Trump for America, Inc.
Mr Beckler was hospitalised in August and has since died.
"When we have obtained emails in the course of our ongoing criminal investigation, we have secured either the account owner's consent or appropriate criminal process", CNN quoted him as saying.
While there's nothing yet to indicate whether there was anything explosive in those emails, the administration is clearly spooked.
After returning from Camp David, President Trump says he's not planning to fire special counsel Robert Mueller. In other words, the best bet right now is that, after catching up people guilty of various, extraneous crimes, the Mueller investigation will leave President Trump relatively untouched.
Langhofer also said that a GSA official appointed by Trump in May had assured the transition in June that any request for records from Mueller's office would be referred to the transition's attorneys.
Both Mueller's team and Loewentritt pushed back on Langhofer's accusations. "Justice by any means isn't justice".
The Trump administration has pledged its cooperation with Mueller so far. The special counsel has also obtained a guilty plea from former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos for lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The emails are from about a dozen of Trump's inner circle during the transition period.
. What are they afraid was found?
"This is another attempt to discredit Mueller as his #TrumpRussia probe tightens", tweeted Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell. So the president has a legitimate case to make that Mueller is on a fishing expedition - a partisan witch hunt using taxpayer dollars to do the bidding of Democrats in Congress to find evidence to impeach the president.
"I'm increasingly anxious Republicans will shut down the House intelligence committee investigation at the end of the month", Adam Schiff, the leading Democrat on the House intelligence committee said prior to reports of the letter this weekend.
The email records are incredibly sensitive, given they include national security discussions about possible global goals for Mr Trump and contain candid assessments of candidates for top government posts. (Hint: "They're just playing politics, but this is a bad sign for them.)", added former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti on Twitter.
