Concussion expert irate when Texans' QB returns after hard hit

CHICAGO IL- DECEMBER 03 Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo #10 of the San Francisco 49ers talks with teammates in the first quarter against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field

Jimmy Garoppolo moved to 2-0 as the team's starting quarterback, directing a 26-16 victory over the Texans. Garoppolo connected with Aldrick Robinson for 18 yards to set up Robbie Gould for a 35-yard field goal. It was the first time the 49ers have won back-to-back games in the same season since November 2014.

Houston may turn to a new kicker this week after Ka'imi Fairbairn struggled again. Johnson was observed spiking his helmet on the sideline after getting beaten for the touchdown.

That means Brown will miss two of the last three games with a shoulder injury.

May fails to strike Brexit border deal with Ireland

Houston Texans quarterback Tom Savage suffered a concussion in the second quarter and did not return for the second half on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers at NRG Stadium. The Texans punted on the following play. The Texans later lost QB Tom Savage to a concussion just prior to the intermission. He was replaced by T.J. Yates after that, though Savage still attempted to run onto the field and had to be pulled back by team personnel. It appeared the wind was knocked out of him. Veteran guard Zane Beadles started at right tackle. Defensive linemen Tank Carradine and Aaron Lynch will be available to play.

Garoppolo passed for 334 yards and produced his first touchdown pass with the 49ers, a 6-yard strike to tight end Garrett Celek with 1:53 remaining in the third quarter.
