Ukraine again arrests Mikheil Saakashvili, ex-president of Georgia
Poroshenko's visit to Lithuania comes at a time of increased tensions in Ukraine after law-enforcement authorities tried to arrest former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili on charges of financial crimes, but he was freed by his supporters.
The saga threatens to embarrass the pro-Western leadership in Kiev, although Saakashvili's party, which is now seeking to unseat Poroshenko at the ballot box, does not have nationwide support, opinion polls show.
She said the work of NABU and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) - a partner agency that is also under attack - was "crucial to achieving stronger and equitable growth".
"He (Saakashvili) has to answer to investigators and to society regarding the accusations against him", Poroshenko said.

A few hours before he was detained, Mr. Saakashvili had called for weekend protests against Mr. Poroshenko in Independence Square, an area in Kiev known as Maidan that was the center of the earlier demonstrations against Mr. Yanukovych.
Hundreds of his supporters gathered in a narrow street outside the police station where he was taken, shouting "Shame" and calling for others to join them. Saakashvili then re-entered the country illegally and staged multiple rallies in the capital demanding the president be impeached.
He previously served as governor of the southern Odessa region after being appointed by Mr Poroshenko in 2015. The van was surrounded by a throng of supporters who eventually were able to free him.
Prosecutors, who say Mr Saakashvili is being funded by businessmen close to Russian Federation, released audio and video recordings which they say proved he had received hundreds of thousands of dollars from the criminal group.
