New York City police said Friday that an actress' rape allegations against Harvey Weinstein are credible, and if the movie mogul were in the state and the accusation more recent, they would move to arrest him immediately.
On a November night, de la Huerta saw Weinstein at a hotel bar in Manhattan, according to the story, and he offered her a ride home. Weinstein insisted they have drinks, she said, and they would up in her apartment.
"He pushed me on the bed... and it happened all very suddenly", she told CBS News over the phone.
Then two months later, Weinstein showed up at her building and they went upstairs before he attacked her again, according to the actress.
The actress' attorney provided material to New York District Attorney Maxine B. Rosenthal, who is considering filing charges against the movie mogul.
She joins dozens of women who have already leveled allegations of sexual abuse against Weinstein.
De la Huerta has appeared in films, like "The Cider House Rules" and "A Walk to Remember", and starred as Lucy Danzinger in HBO's "Boardwalk Empire". "But we're talking about a 7-year-old case". "As this is an active investigation, we will not be commenting further".
"We don't want another Roman Polanski on our hands", one source said.
The Times and The Telegraph report the accuser is "Paz de la Huerta, 33, who appeared in the USA television series Boardwalk Empire", and "alleged both attacks took place in her own home about a month apart".
"We are aware of the sexual assault complaints". Vance's office said the NYPD's investigators did not consult prosecutors in the sex crimes unit before arranging the meeting that led to the recording.
Weinstein, who was ousted from his own company amid the scandal, has repeatedly stated through a spokesman that "allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied".
