Jared Kushner Turns Over Documents in Mueller Probe
04 November 2017, 12:29 | Katrina Lee
President Donald Trump blames Jared Kushner for some of the decisions that led to special counsel Robert Mueller's appointment, according to a report in Vanity Fair.
Citing a source briefed on a Tuesday call between Trump and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, Vanity Fair's Gabriel Sherman reported that Trump blamed Kushner "for his role in decisions, specifically the firings" of Michael Flynn as White House national security adviser and Comey as Federal Bureau of Investigation director. White House sources, however, have indicated that Mr Kushner is not a target of the investigation.
"Let me be very clear: I did not collude with Russian Federation, nor do I know of anyone else in the campaign who did so", Mr. Kushner told reporters outside the White House at the time.
As the legal noose around the Trump campaign tightens, tensions are reportedly soaring in the West Wing between the president and his son-in-law/top adviser. The documents are similar to the ones Kushner gave to congressional investigators.
Former White House staff members-whether encamped at Breitbart News or anywhere else-are constrained by 18 USC 207, which governs "restrictions on former officers, employees, and elected officials of the executive and legislative branches".

"Jared is the worst political adviser in the White House in modern history", Sam Nunberg, an associate of Stone who was a Trump campaign operative, told Vanity Fair. It is not clear how Kushner's advice to the President might relate to the overall Russian Federation investigation or potential obstruction of justice.
According to Vanity Fair writer Gabriel Sherman, those indictments announced loud and clear that the Russian Federation investigation poses an existential threat to Trump's presidency.
When longtime Trump ally Roger Stone recently told the president that Jared had been giving him bad political advice, the president agreed, someone familiar with the conversation told Sherman.
A report from Vanity Fair suggests that Trump wasn't rattled by Mueller's takedown of former campaign manager Paul Manafort, but took issue with the fact that George Papadopoulos had struck a plea deal - and possibly wore a wire for the past several weeks. "I'm only saying publicly what everyone says behind the scenes at Fox News, in conservative media, and the Senate and Congress".

And there is a hint that Papadopoulos may be the beginning of Mueller's effort to bring charges against Trump campaign officials. In order to stay on pace, we want to see a House bill passed by Thanksgiving.
