NFL Investigating Horrific Panthers Fan Assault

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested Maraghy and charged him with simple assault after sucker-punching an older fan Thursday night in the upper deck of Bank of America stadium during the Panthers-Eagles game.

Maraghy is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Warren Carrigan, who shot the video, wrote in the caption that the older man complained to the couple for standing throughout the game - blocking his view.

According to Instagram user odubco of Greensboro, the man in the Panthers jersey and the woman with him were standing during the game, the fan behind him "took offense to the couple never sitting down and obstructing his view" and it escalated from there. Police tweeted that Maraghy was being taken to the Mecklenburg County jail.

The video shows the sucker-punch in action.
