One last last chance: GOP strains for Obamacare repeal votes

Sens. Bill Cassidy and Lindsey Graham are behind the new bill which would turn Obamacare funding into block grants used for the states

He said he has been working behind the scenes with four other Republican governors to come up with a new plan ever since a late-night vote sent another bill down in defeat back in July.

Republicans have until the end of the month to pass the "Graham-Cassidy" healthcare bill.

Hogan said parts of the law that work need to be kept and parts that don't work need to be improved - all in a way that protects Marylanders' coverage and stops rates from continually skyrocketing.

Cassidy responded to Kimmel's comments with a statement defending his bill as "must-pass" legislation to help cover people and noting Republicans faced a September 30 deadline. GOP Senators John McCain of Arizona, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of ME - all of whom voted against the first Republican effort to repeal parts of Obamacare - are undecided, although McCain indicated that he may "reluctantly" back the new effort.

Under the provisions of Cassidy-Graham, Medicaid funding will be given as a lump sum to each state.

It would give states control over billions of dollars in federal health care spending.

Paul said he would support a partial repeal bill - as he did with the "skinny bill" that was voted on earlier this summer and failed to pass - but argued that the Graham-Cassidy bill is not that. "But because this already exists people are saying, 'Oh well, it's better than what we've got'".

Well, NASA's Cassini is dead
But the agency didn't want to risk Cassini accidentally crashing into one of these moons and spreading around Earth microbes. Dutiful to the end, the spacecraft sampled Saturn's atmosphere Friday morning as it made its final plunge .

Republicans must vote on the bill by the end of next week or lose access to special budget rules that prevent Democrats from filibustering. Cassidy-Graham is, instead, a cynical bait and switch strategy.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., legislation, called the Medicare for All Act, would roll all Americans into Medicare and remove them from private plans and Medicaid.

A bipartisan group of 10 governors, including the leader of the National Governors Association, is calling on Senate leaders to reject the bill.

The Senate's longshot Obamacare repeal bill is starting to look possible. Medicaid was expanded in IL under Obamacare.

Cassidy might have President Donald Trump on his side - "Money direct to States!"

"So last week, Bill Cassidy and Sen".

Ten other governors - both Democrats and Republicans - in a Tuesday letter asked Senate leaders Mitch McConnell of Kentucky a Republican and Chuck Schumer of NY, a Democrat - to take a bi-partisan approach.
