Tottenham Hotspur Target Isco Signs New Real Madrid Contract
Real Madrid fans can breathe a sigh of relief after the club announced on Thursday that Francisco "Isco" Alarcon had signed a four-year contract extension.
By law, contracts in Spain must feature a buy-out clause and Madrid have proactively insisted on inserting unattainably high clauses into new deals for players, starting with the clause in Isco's contract, Marca and AS reported.
Real Madrid will remain patient with Gareth Bale, and the Wales global will regain his previous good form, says Guillem Balague.
Isco's previous deal was set to expire in the summer of 2018 so reports suggested that Real were also ready to negotiate his departure in order to avoid losing him for free. "I hope it's the last game of the season that we're without him".
The last time Real Sociedad had such a good start in the Spanish league, it went on to win the title.
Isco had been linked with a transfer away from Real for years, as he failed to establish himself as a regular starter in the star-studded side.
Sacristan, a former midfielder who played for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, coached Barcelona's B squad a few years ago and was one of the names rumored to replace Luis Enrique at the Catalan club at the end of last season.
Isco had already proven his talent before his arrival to the Bernabeu stadium.
He also impressed at the 2013 UEFA Under-21 Championship in Israel, where he scored one of his three goals in the competition in the 4-2 triumph over Italy in the final.
Isco has been an ever present in Madrid's team this season, playing in all three Liga games and their 3-0 win over APOEL in the Champions League on Wednesday.
