Love Netflix? T-Mobile Is Giving Away Free Netflix Subscription With 'Netflix On Us' Promo

T-Mobile adds in free Netflix for its unlimited family plans

AT&T and Verizon reintroduced unlimited data plans early in 2017 to combat market-share gains by T-Mobile and Sprint.

Starting on September 12, if you have two or more lines on the magenta carrier's One plan, you will receive a free subscription to Netflix.

Are there any caveats? .

Today's promotion from T-Mobile suggests that certain data plans can get a Netflix subscription for free. Customers who tweet their favourite quotes, GIFs or memes from Netflix series can win smartphones, T-Mobile and Netflix promotional gifts and a grand prize of tickets to the premier of the new series of "Stranger Things" by Netflix. T-Mobile will be paying Netflix for its content and acknowledged it will not be getting a major discount, but the company did not detail what it would be spending per user. Four lines are $160 - taxes and fees included.

Trump pitches tax overhaul effort in North Dakota
Trump has made tax reform his focus over the past week, calling on Congress to pass legislation reforming the tax code. Trump remarked that Reagan's tax cuts were passed with the help of Democrats, which helped boost the economy.

Of course, T-Mobile can't do this without Netflix.

T-Mobile may ultimately have to pay $125 million a quarter for all of these memberships, by Piecyk's math, but he thinks the Netflix deal will help it sign on more multiple-line family memberships. He said that the investment will work out for T-Mobile in terms of customer and revenue growth.

COO Michael Sievert said Netflix is "the No. 1 paid streaming service on our network", and called the move "a big, bold, risky investment" that, like prior incentives, should lead to subscriber and revenue growth, followed by increased profitability and investment. Viewing is not limited to T-Mobile-connected cellular devices, T-Mobile told Ars.

Note that the T-Mobile One caps video streaming at 480p resolution. Since speed is all important for high-quality video-streaming, this is all for the good. It also has offered free music and video streaming, free global roaming, and other perks. Even Legere conceded that for some customers the lower promotional rate may be more attractive than the Netflix savings during a call with reporters outlining the promotion. T-Mobile USA also made mention that "Like all plans, features may change or be discontinued at any time".
