Hands on: LG V30 review

LG V30 with 6-inch QHD Full Vision 18:9 Display Launched at IFA

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 having the similar features which released in NY on last week of this August 2017.

Rather than flood the world with information about a new handset, LG has been slowly feeding information about its next flagship the V30.

The smartphone is expected to release this Fall in markets such as North America, Asia and Europe, with an earlier release taking place in LG home country of South Korea on 21st September. With some publications having spent sometime with the new smartphones, here is a roundup of their first impressions.

It puts on a Quad HD OLED FullVision display with a resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels and has a pixel density of 538PPI. LG's almost edge-to-edge OLED display has HDR 10 format for high level of colour contrast and as announced, the smartphone will be Daydream compatible.

Today at IFA 2017 in Berlin the South Korean firm revealed the V30 in full and it looks to build off of the successes of the G6. Especially, in low-light conditions.

"With its F1.6 Crystal Clear Lens Camera and Cine Video mode, the LG V30 is designed to help create professional-looking content without professional-level complexity". This phone has Always-on Display (AOD) feature and Floating Bar. Here, the OLED display over LCD is an advantage in LG V30.

How much does the LG V30 cost? LG isn't the best at upgrading their devices on time (also not the worst), but luckily history tells us that they will most likely update their V30 and G6 devices in the next few months to Android Oreo.

Kushner says freezing construction in West Bank will harm Netanyahu
The reason being the Palestinian Authority informed the USA that he was not welcomed in Ramallah . More so, Abbas said that Israeli transgressions must come to an end.

LG V30 comes in at 151.7 x 75.4 x 7.3mm, while the Galaxy Note 8 is 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6 mm.

On the software side, LG is equipping the V30 with features like a Cine Video mode with Cine Effect, which gives you 15 movie presets like romantic comedy and thriller, and a Point Zoom that'll let you smoothly zoom in on any subject in the frame.

As with a lot of phones now, there will be a 128GB V30+ model but this will be limited to certain markets. The phone is also IP68 water and dust resistant, it's rocking Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, and it has passed 14 different military-standard durability tests - so not only is it pretty, but it's also pretty tough. The secondary 13MP wide-angle camera offers a 120-degree FoV and is paired with an f/1.9 aperture lens.

Some new features and specifications confirmed at the event that we didn't know in advance include the core hardware. While other OEMs have stepped up the game to at least 8MP sensors, LG is still sticking with 5MP on the selfie shooter, same as last year's V20.

The editor of pocket-lint.com, Chris Hall, said the design and camera features make the V30 a genuine rival to Samsung's S8 and the iPhone.

Why LG would opt for a smaller megapixel count and aperture is still unknown, but on paper, the V30 is already losing the battle when compared to other top flagships, including the Nokia 8 (8MP) or even the OnePlus 5 (16MP).
