Jordan Scarlett, Rick Wells suspended from all team activities

Outback Bowl- Florida v Iowa

Scarlett and receiver Rick Wells were suspended indefinitely from all team activities for misusing school funds.

Florida announced Wednesday it has suspended two more players for Saturday's game against MI, including junior starting running back Jordan Scarlett.

McElwain suspended seven other players for the opener in a crop headlined by wide receiver Antonio Callaway.

Wells is a less significant blow, as the 6-foot, 202-pound redshirt freshman did not play last season and had not reportedly been practicing with the team in camp. Of the 10, Callaway, Scarlett and backup defensive end Keivonnis Davis were the only ones who would've seen appreciable time against MI.

Multi-mission Raytheon missile hits ballistic missile target
Sailors aboard the destroyer USS John Paul Jones tracked it with radar and fired an interceptor missile to shoot it down. The U.S. military shot an incoming missile out of the sky in a successful intercept test Wednesday.

Seven others, including leading receiver Antonio Callaway, were suspended August 13 for reportedly purchasing items at the campus bookstore with their student identification cards, which didn't have sufficient funds for the transactions, and later selling the items for cash.

We're now just three days away from one of the biggest games of the opening weekend for college football between the Florida Gators and Michigan Wolverines, and well, as more time goes on, it's looking like this might be much of a game at all.

Scarlett started eight of 13 games last season and rushed for 889 yards and six TDs on 179 carries. ESPN further reported that the players bought items with their university student IDs at the school bookstore and then sold them for cash. He tops Florida's running back depth chart, with Lamical Perine and Mark Thompson behind him. Callaway, a junior and the team's top playmaker, has 89 catches for 1,399 yards and 11 touchdowns in two seasons.
