American UN Ambassador Nikki Haley meets with Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely

Judging by the statements made after the meeting by both sides, it was had been more successful than their June meeting, which a USA source described as "tense" and "disappointing". "We know that things are hard and complicated, but nothing is impossible with honest efforts".

A USA delegation led by Jared Kushner had a "productive" meeting with the Palestinian Authority on how to begin Middle East peace talks, the State Department said Friday, though some Palestinian officials expressed frustration that the US still has not committed to a two-state solution.

The visit is part of a regional tour by Kushner, who is also Trump's son-in-law, Trump aide Jason Greenblatt and Deputy National Security Adviser Dina Powell. Negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians have been at a standstill since the failure of USA mediation in the spring of 2014.

"Without a clear American commitment to the two-state solution and stopping settlements and ending the occupation، we don't expect much from this administration،" he added.

The visit comes with both Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not in position to make major concessions, some analysts say, and no details have emerged of how Trump's team would overcome that. Most significantly for the Palestinians was the failure to obtain economic freedom to develop what is termed "Area C" in the 1993 Oslo Accords - the section of the West Bank under both Israeli administrative and security control - and a commitment from the American interlocutors to establish dates and milestones for the negotiating process it oversees. The reason being the Palestinian Authority informed the USA that he was not welcomed in Ramallah.

It called on the coalition to establish a more transparent and independent reporting procedure. Amnesty urged the global community to urgently increase aid for fleeing civilians.

A small group of demonstrators gathered in Ramallah as the meeting took place Thursday, protesting a delegation that is widely seen as biased toward Israel.

They have also held talks with Egyptian, Saudi, Emirati, Qatari and Jordanian officials.

"We have told the Americans that we are committed to the American effort،" Khatib said.

"There was a feeling that the Americans were offended", the source said, "and that's why Abbas was quick to explain himself and say that he was willing to reach a peace deal".

More so, Abbas said that Israeli transgressions must come to an end.
