DAVIE FL- MAY 31 Miami Dolphins Quarterback Ryan Tannehill talks with Miami Dolphins Head Coach Adam Gase during a practice session at the Miami Dolphins training camp

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports Ryan Tannehill (ACL) will undergo knee surgery and be placed on injured reserve. That effectively ends the season for the Dolphins quarterback, leaving recent addition Jay Cutler as Miami's likely starter for 2017. The 29-year-old fell to the ground on a non-contact play when his left knee appeared to buckle.

Tannehill initially suffered an injury to the knee in December, partially tearing the ACL.

"It was tougher for me because it's more and more real", Gase said.

However, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Dolphins' "fear" was Tannehill would require season-ending surgery. "The fact that it's him and he knows his body and how he feels-It's unfortunate for him because he worked so hard to be available for us".

Tannehill's $17.98 million salary for this year is fully guaranteed.

Star India confirms leak
According to Gadgets 360 , the leaked episode has the date tag from the release of the new season, signaling its genuineness. Previously, it was unclear if the HBO hack had resulted in the theft of any unaired full episodes of Game of Thrones .

Tannehill re-injured his left knee during Thursday's training camp practice last week, but an MRI reportedly revealed "no structural damage".

Cutler, 34, started 15 games in 2015 with Gase as his offensive coordinator, throwing for 3,659 yards with 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Tannehill does have his flaws-including throwing at least 12 interceptions in each of his first five National Football League seasons-but he's had more positives than negatives throughout his career to this point.

Tannehill will have surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament, a person familiar with the decision said Friday.
