Dolphins' Gase says Tannehill getting second opinion, Moore is quarterback 'right now'

NFL Rumors: Jay Cutler, Colin Kaepernick An Option For Miami Dolphins?

Tannehill reinjures left knee in practice

Jay Cutler is also reportedly in the mix as he played under Dolphins coach Adam Gase with the Chicago Bears in 2015.

"When you get a chance to have more than 11 guys actually playing games, it does a lot for confidence", Moore said of Miami's backups; "Especially at the quarterback position, I've gotten to play with a lot of these guys with live bullets".

While the Dolphins have Matt Moore as a backup, and he performed capably when Tannehill went down past year, two other big names have been floated for spots with Miami: Colin Kaepernick and Jay Cutler.

Tannehill and the Dolphins are still evaluating their options to treat his injured left knee, Dave Hyde of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Yoan Moncada and Willy Garcia collided in a brutal outfield play
The Sox trailed the Blue Jays 3-0 at the time of the collision, and the bases were loaded when Barney hit James Shields' fastball. However, the White Sox have just released statements that sure seem like best-case scenarios - so far - for the players.

Moore said he spoke to Tannehill and "he's obviously waiting, like we all are. I guess I don't get all the hatred towards him", Gase said.

The Dolphins may have been prepared for the prospect of Tannehill being out. We'll see where we go from there because I've gotta figure out what's going on with Ryan. The Dolphins will wait for more clarity on Tannehill before making a decision on adding another quarterback. He saw a drop in interceptions (by 7) and fumbles ( by 3) that season and had a Bears-high 92.3 quarterback rating, enough to earn him another season with the team.

ESPN's Jeff Darlington reported the news on Twitter on Thursday, which Adam Schefter later corroborated. "I'm focused on myself and the guys who are here right now". A source described Tannehill's knee as a "ticking time bomb that can go off anytime". The starter is expected to miss "significant" time, per Salguero, but if he avoids surgery, the sixth-year quarterback could play this season.

Moore ran the offense through an efficient practice on Friday and will be taking the starting reps for the foreseeable future. Though Moore appears to hold down the starting job in Tannehill's absence, the two behind Moore on the depth chart - Brandon Doughty and David Fales - have looked underwhelming in training camp.
