Priebus latest high-profile departure from Trump admin

"I'm on Team Trump and I look forward to helping him achieve his goals and his agenda for the American people", Priebus said.

AFP | US President Donald Trump on Friday ousted his beleaguered chief of staff Reince Priebus, replacing him with retired Marine Corps general and current Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly.

US Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly testifying during a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

Priebus's exit comes almost a week after press secretary Sean Spicer quit the White House, apparently unhappy over the appointment of Anthony Scaramucci as communications director.

"And leading up to Priebus" final days as chief of staff, Trump's complaints to other senior staff reached "fever pitch", the official said.

At a meeting of auto company CEOs in MI in March, Trump praised the executives and then said, "And then I look at Reince", drawing scattered laughs with a tone that suggested Priebus was a less impressive presence.

Kelly will move over from a Cabinet position, secretary of Homeland Security.

Mr Kelly is now the secretary of homeland security and Mr Trump tweeted that he "has been a true star of my administration".

"I don't think that is adding stability to the White House and right now the White House needs a lot stability".

Priebus did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

Israel, Jordan deal with diplomatic crisis after embassy attack
The guard then shot the Jordanian worker and the Jordanian landlord standing next to him, the public security directorate said. Jordan has called for the removal of the metal detectors and thousands of Jordanians have protested against the Israeli move.

He said he is more focused on MS-13 because it is "particularly violent", saying MS-13's members do not like to shoot their victims because death comes too fast.

"The President wanted to go a different direction", Priebus told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on "The Situation Room" Friday evening.

"He should be talking about policy and sticking to issues for a while", Black said.

People who know Kelly told The Associated Press that he was not aware of the details of the initial orders until around the time that President Trump signed it. Yes, Cernovich accurately tweeted that Priebus was out just before it was officially announced, and ahead of any mainstream reports about that particular development. He's been a true star of my administration.

Among some establishment Republicans, there were signs that patience with Trump was wearing thin. But Priebus, like Attorney General Jeff Sessions, isn't taking the hint.

Priebus goes down in history as having the briefest run as an initial White House chief of staff at 189 days.

Do you ever have any question about anything you wish to ask and get answer?

Priebus, who was brought on by the outsider President in large part because of his Washington relationships, also wound up carrying a hefty share of the blame for the White House's legislative stumbles, including the latest failure to pass a health care replacement bill. "As for John Kelly, I know he's going to be great".

Kelly has also pushed for support for Trump's signature campaign pledge to build a wall along the southern border, though he acknowledged at his confirmation hearing that "a physical barrier in and of itself will not do the job". The department said Friday in a statement that Kelly remains secretary until Monday.
