Authorities say southern Utah's wildfire, near the ski town of Brian Head, has forced more than 1,500 people from homes and cabins.

The US Forest Service has reported that at least 13 large wildfires are burning across the Western United States.

The fire has grown to almost two square miles. In Southern California, a wildfire broke out after a auto crashed on a freeway and prompted evacuations of some nearby homes in the city of Santa Clarita. Additionally, the estimated cost of fighting the Brian Head Fire so far has cost over $7.0 million.

"Those are very favorable conditions for spreading a fire", said National Weather Service lead forecaster Greg Martin. The fire burned about 1,600 acres.

Our prayers go out to the people of Brian Head, that the fire is contained soon.

Hundreds of families have been evacuated, thousands of acres are torched, and the flames are still burning out of control.

Companies, governments assess damage from latest malware
Meanwhile, in the United States, it affected companies such as the drugmaker Merck and food conglomerate Mondelez International. In a joint statement, CSA and SingCert said they have not received any reports on Petya ransomware infection.

And in Idaho, fire officials say quick responses by ranchers and others to more than 20 wildfires sparked by lightning have kept the small fires from becoming major blazes like those that scorched the region in recent decades.

Steve Bloch, legal director of the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, said Noel's assertion is an over-simplification of wildfires that are the result of fire suppression, climate change, drought and unpredictable winds. No injuries were reported and more than a dozen residential buildings were damaged.

Utah wildfire Incident Commander Tim Roide said in a statement that Sunday was "a good day for firefighters, who were able to have success securing areas of particular concern, including the many structures affected by the Brian Head Fire".

In Burbank, California, a brush fire forced mandatory evacuations on homes on two streets on Wednesday night, according to the Burbank Fire Department.

There were a total of 36 crews with 1,140 firefighters working the blaze with 49 engines and 11 helicopters, according to the Great Basin Coordination Center. The fire is 15 percent contained and an investigation into the cause of the blaze is ongoing. In nearby Bryce Canyon National Park, clouds of smoke edged up over parts of it, and nearby campgrounds restricted the use of open fire pits. The Frye Fire is about 70 miles northeast of Tucson, the second-largest city in Arizona. They will also be scouting out ahead of the fire to the north and south to be prepare if the fire activity picks up and moves the fire in those directions.

Meanwhile in Arizona, crews are battling several fires as temperatures are expected in the triple digits. One picture showed a logged area, depicted by tree stumps among unburned trees, while the other depicted an unlogged area that burned.
