George informs Pacers he will leave in 2018

Finals pick up where they left off with Cavs-Warriors III

But Griffin and Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert abruptly announced Monday night that they were parting ways, just three days before Thursday's NBA Draft and less than two weeks before the June 30 expiration of Griffin's contract.

Since the news of George's intent to depart for LA, other reports have surfaced that IN has begun searching for a trade partner that will essentially use George as a one-year rental, including Cleveland, Boston, and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Paul George is committed to playing for the Indiana Pacers next season.

Whether it's for a season or the long-term future, George would provide a significant boost to Boston as it chases the three-time defending conference champion Cavaliers in the East. He can shoot. He averaged 16 points and 11.2 rebounds in the 2017 NBA Finals. This becomes meaningful in predicting what the salary cap and tax line will be next year when the LA Lakers where believed to be able to obtain George as a free agent which was driving down what the Lakers would ultimately offer for George in trade now. The Pacers would be better off trying to add some of the Los Angeles Lakers young players and draft picks.

George has an 18.1 points-per-game average in parts of seven National Basketball Association seasons.

According to the Vertical, George "wanted to be forthright on his plans and spare the franchise any confusion about his intentions". According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, the Pacers and Cavs have already discussed possible trade scenarios. If the Rockets acquire George it would give them a second superstar to team with James Harden. His goal is to play for the Los Angeles Lakers.

China-backed AIIB's coal policy riles green groups
However, Joachim Von Amsberg, vice president of policy and strategy at the AIIB, said MDBs can not be a substitute for government. China has clamped down on its citizens visiting South Korea, which has squeezed tourism on Jeju, local businesses said.

The 27-year-old George is from Palmdale, Calif., a desert town about 60 miles north of Los Angeles. Fielding a phone call from Pritchard and toying with the idea is vastly different than going to work on a serious deal.

The Cleveland Cavaliers - a team I said should trade for George immediately to keep up with the Golden State Warriors - seemed to be interested.

But there's more value in securing George's Bird Rights (i.e., the ability to pay him more than anyone else next season), keeping him from a contender that might tempt him to re-sign and eliminating the threat of a designated-veteran-player deal with the Pacers.

The Pacers are doing everything they can to move George without giving him up for free, but they lost all of their leverage when news broke about George wanting to play for the Lakers.

Outside of the Lakers, any team who makes a trade offer for George will do so with the understanding that it's probably a one-year rental.
