Trump uses social media to question probe of his campaign

U.S. President Donald Trump
The Justice Department's investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 election is looking at Kushner's multiple roles in the Trump administration, including the Trump campaign's 2016 data analytics operation; his relationship with former national security adviser Michael Flynn; and Kushner's own contacts with Russians, according to U.S. officials briefed on the probe.
The obstruction of justice investigation into Trump began days after Comey was sacked, according to people familiar with the matter, the Washington Post said.
"The message the president is sending through his tweets is that he believes the rule of law doesn't apply to him and that anyone who thinks otherwise will be fired", Feinstein said.
"Mueller is setting up a dragnet of obstruction, financial questions and every aspect of Trump's life and his associates lives", said former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who labeled it "very unsafe". "Nice", Trump wrote in his first tweet. Though some in the White House have preached caution, fearing a repeat of the firestorm over Comey's firing, many in Trump's orbit - including his son Donald Trump Jr. and adviser Newt Gingrich - have deemed Mueller biased and worthy of dismissal. He was also given the authority to investigate obstruction.
Trump said on Twitter, calling the probe into him a "Witch Hunt".
Trump Appears to Confirm He Is Under Investigation
But soon after the abrupt termination, Trump told NBC News that he had been going to fire Comey regardless of any recommendations. It was unclear whether the president was referring to Special Counsel Robert Mueller or Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
He tweeted, "After 7 months of investigations & committee hearings about my "collusion with the Russians", nobody has been able to show any proof". The questions included whether he had confidence in Rosenstein, whether he plans to fire special counsel Robert Mueller and how he knows he's under investigation by the FBI.
Pres. Trump says being investigated by "man who told me to fire the FBI Director!" The official demanded anonymity because the official was not authorized to be named discussing the deliberations.
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein issued a statement Thursday night warning Americans not to "accept as true" stories based on "anonymous officials".
The second, the source continued, is whether if any potential offences were committed, Trump or others attempted to cover them up or obstruct the investigation into them.
"As a matter of honor, and in light of his sworn testimony before Congress, Rosenstein would inevitably resign if confronted with a White House directive to dismiss the special counsel".
Comey, who was sacked on May 9, told a Senate panel last week he believed Trump dismissed him to undermine the FBI's Russian Federation probe. Pence headed the Trump transition until inauguration day. He has already been subpoenaed by the House intelligence committee.

No longer out of bounds: Trump allies question Mueller probe
Ruddy appears to have based his assessment on public comments made over the weekend by a member of Trump's personal legal team. He told senators during a committee hearing that there would have to be "good cause" for Mueller to be removed from his role.

The Turkish foreign ministry officially "invited" the United States ambassador in for discussions after the announcement. He was seen on video punching a protester and then kicking him twice as he was lying defenceless on the ground.
