Someone Leaked An Embarrassing Employee Sex Memo From Uber's CEO

Uber's CEO has issued a remarkable mea culpa as the company scrambles to deal with yet another public relations crisis.

After meeting for more than six hours, the board said it voted for Holder's recommendations unanimously but wouldn't make them public until Tuesday.

The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that Chief Business Officer Emil Michael is planning to resign as soon as Monday. According to a report in The #New York Times, the company's flamboyant CEO #Travis Kalanick could be asked to take a #Leave Of Absence.

Privately valued at almost $70 billion, Uber operates in hundreds of cities around the world.

It would also come at a sensitive time to the CEO, Michael's personal friend and the company's co-founder, who likely discussed taking a leave of absence from the company at a private board meeting on Sunday. Most recently Uber parted ways with Eric Alexander, another top executive, following questions about whether he improperly obtained a woman's medical report following her alleged rape by an Uber driver.

San Francisco-based Uber is valued at almost $70 billion but has yet to turn a profit. It comes shortly after another law firm, Perkins Coie, submitted a separate report on sexual harassment and other employee concerns at the company.

CNN Tech connected with more than twelve Uber financial specialists to inquire as to whether they trusted Kalanick will step down as CEO.

Ex-Penn State administrators get jail time
Former Penn State president Graham Spanier was sentenced Friday to two months in jail on child endangerment charges. He will serve two months in jail, followed by house arrest and also pay a $5,000 fine, according to Grace.

Uber confirmed to the BBC that Alexander no longer worked at the firm - but offered no further comment.

In addition to the sexual harassment probes, investors have lambasted the company for having a culture "plagued by disrespect;" a leaked video showed Kalanick berating a driver over fares; Google filed a lawsuit against the ride-hailing company claiming it stole self-driving vehicle technology; a New York Times expose uncovered Uber's secretive Greyball tool meant to thwart authorities in 2014 and a long list of top executives have stepped down.

Uber has since faced other problems, including an intellectual property dispute over self-driving auto technology with Waymo, the self-driving vehicle business that operates under Google's parent company. In part, the move was done because some executives at Uber were reportedly skeptical about the assault and believed it was orchestrated by Ola, a local competitor. But sources inside Uber said that the company is in discussions with Michael of a "legal nature" related to an expected exit.

Holder's report is expected to have recommendations that include more oversight on areas including spending and revamped training processes for human resources staffers.

One such employee, Susan Fowler, wrote an incendiary blog post in February on workplace conditions at Uber.
