A stern faced Theresa May speaks at the declaration at the election count at the Magnet Leisure Centre on June 9
May's office has already said that the senior Cabinet members - Treasury chief Philip Hammond, Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and Home Secretary Amber Rudd - will keep their current jobs, but she is expected to reshuffle the lower ranks of ministers.
They have now obtained agreement for "confidence and supply" from the Northern Irish Democratic Unionist Party, led by Arlene Foster.
The political turmoil comes a week before Britain is due to start negotiating the terms of its exit from the European Union in talks of unprecedented complexity that are supposed to wrap up by the end of March 2019, when Britain actually leaves.
Her Conservatives struck an outline deal with Northern Ireland's Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) for support on key legislation, a humiliating outcome for them after an election meant to make them a dominant force.
He said that Labour under his leadership was "quite ready and able to put forward a serious programme of government", which he said "obviously has massive support in this country".
May's authority over her party was shattered by the election result. Many Tory candidates blamed the policy for driving voters back into the arms of the Labour Party.
On Brexit, the DUP supports leaving the European Union but opposes a return to a "hard" border with Ireland which could happen if May carries through her threat to walk away from the talks rather than accept a "bad deal".
A look at all 10 of Rafael Nadal's French Open finals
And Roger Federer is a very happy man that he didn't come to the French because his confidence has not been dented. Sunday was also the first time since 1969 that the Roland Garros final had featured two men over 30.
"We will welcome any such deal being agreed, as it will provide the stability and certainty the whole country requires as we embark on Brexit and beyond", the final statement said.
"As we are the party that won most seats and most votes, we are the only party that is in a position to form a government that can do that".
The Opposition Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, has also said that his party is waiting in the wings to take charge after he defied pollsters predictions by gaining 30 seats in Thursday's election, leaving a hung Parliament.
The DUP is a socially conservative party that opposes abortion and gay marriage, and many of its members also are sceptical about man-made climate change and reject the theory of evolution. He said a new election might be necessary later this year or early in 2018.
Some senior Tories have made the removal of Ms Hill and Mr Timothy a condition for continuing to support Ms May, who has vowed to remain prime minister despite the Conservatives' losing their overall majority in Parliament.
Meanwhile, Labour, which had been written off by critics as all but unelectable, surged to 262 seats, up 29 from its tally in the 2015 election. She was criticized for a lackluster campaigning style and for a plan to force elderly people to pay more for their care, a proposal her opponents dubbed the "dementia tax". "I just don't see how she can continue in any long-term way". "It's just how long she's going to remain on death row", former Conservative finance minister George Osborne told the BBC. The narrow majority secured by the deal means parliamentary votes will be on a knife edge as the prime minister cannot afford for even a handful of her own Tory MPs to oppose her.
