Snapchat unveils custom Stories

Tuesday's update changed stories, the Snapchat imitator that was introduced to the app last summer.

Instagram said Explore has over 100m daily visitors. So let's dive in to see some more details on how Instagram plans to do so.

Since introducing a stories feature past year, Instagram has added a boatload of new features to its stories, most recently its Snapchat-like face filters last week.

To access the new feature, users tap the "create Story" (+) icon in the top right corner of the Stories page.

Now, with more than 200 million people using Stories every single day, Instagram is making its Stories bigger than ever.

Nashville Predators vs. Anaheim Ducks: Game 4 Preview
Sullivan doesn't plan on naming a starter until after his team's skate Friday morning. "We're never out of a game", Forsberg said. That was followed by the Ducks committing two foolish penalties to give the Predators a 5-on-3 with under five minutes remaining.

How you can tell if your photo or video was added to a location or hashtag Story. Location Stories from nearby places (but not Hashtag Stories) will also appear featured in the Explore tab.

You can now see Instagram Stories shared from around your location.

With location-based Stories, which are rolling out to the Instagram app now, users are able to search for any city, town, landmark or local business and see a Story tied that particular location.

Unlike Snapchat, however, Instagram is going to pull all of these Stories together using only software algorithms instead of human curators. You can also invite nearby Snapchat users to participate if it's, say, a public event, like a high school prom or college graduation. For example, people can use the new feature to share party pictures and video only with certain friends within range of the event. The most recent, according to Business Insider, comes through location-based Stories. This allows Instagram to assume numerous functions of Weather.com, Yelp, Trip Advisor, the Zagat Guide, online guides like Time Out New York, and the individual promotional platforms for restaurants, businesses, and events - all in one service.
