"CPEC is a project thats between China and Pakistan and I think work has started (on it)", Zhanwu said when asked whether China would consider rethinking the CPEC alignment given Indias concerns.
"As per the concern over the Kashmir region as we said before, it is an issue between India and Pakistan".
Beijing again sought to allay New Delhi's fear that China would meddle in the Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan.
He further added, "While Pakistan-Economic -Corridor is between Islamabad and Beijing and we suggest India no to drag Kashmir into it". On the question of Kashmir, China's position has been consistent and clear.
In 1954, India and China signed five principles of peaceful co-existence or Panchsheel that talked about mutual respect for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty, mutual non-aggression, mutual non-interference in each other's internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit and peaceful co-existence.
