Shine's name has appeared during dark times at the network, notably as an ally to former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes amid various sexual harassment lawsuits.
There are rumors that Fox News co-president Bill Shine's future with the network is rocky, according to New York Magazine. Shine began working at Fox News in 1996 as the producer of a previous show, Hannity & Colmes, which matched the staunchly conservative Hannity with Alan Colmes, a liberal.
Though reportedly well-liked by Rupert Murdoch, the company's controlling shareholder, Shine may be too closely associated with Ailes' tenure to appease the Murdochs, eager to turn the page on months of workplace turmoil.
Fox News co-president Bill Shine is privately expressing uncertainty regarding his future at the network, according to a report from NY magazine. Fox News did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for additional comment. In July, former Fox News chief Roger Ailes was sacked over his own sexual-harassment scandal. "Done. Best Sean", he wrote on Twitter, later apologizing for the typo.
Fox News host Sean Hannity warned on Twitter Thursday that the end of the Fox News channel could be at hand. "And Gabe I KNOW WHO it is", he added. The lawsuit came on the heels of last week's ouster of longtime host Bill O'Reilly in the face of mounting sexual harassment charges. Fox News continues to be the most-watched cable news network and is typically among the leaders in all of cable, not just news.
