BlackBerry has been out of the hardware game for a while now, but the storied brand will live on thanks to licensing deals with other manufacturers including TCL, of Alcatel fame.
It's also a pretty good handset to hold in your hand and to look at. For now, the smartphone manufacturer is celebrating the United Kingdom release of the BlackBerry KEYone at Selfridges, London. Although designed by BlackBerry, the KEYone is made by TCL Communications. There's a fingerprint reader built into the space bar, too. The device will be available from Canadian carriers Bell, Bell MTS, Rgers, SaskTel and TELUS Business for CAD $199 (around US$146) with a two-year contract, according to TCL's press release.
The KEYone runs Android 7.1 and has a 4.5-inch HD display.

The KEYone features a standout physical keyboard with touch features embedded. "Anyone who is an Android loyalist and values the mobile security and productivity that BlackBerry software brings will love this smartphone". This BlackBerry security application monitors your other apps, alerting you if one is accessing your camera to take a picture or video, turning your microphone on, sending a text message, accessing your contacts or location.
BlackBerry KEYone is going to be the last smartphone designed by BlackBerry, as in September a year ago the company had announced to give away the license for designing and producing smartphones to its partnerTCL.
A USB Type-C port provides power and wired connectivity, and the non-removable 3,505 mAh battery claims 26 hours of mixed use.
The smartphone is backed by a 3505mAh battery and comes with QuickCharge 3.0 support along with a "Boost" charging feature. At the back there is a 12 MP camera with a Sony IMX378 sensor, f/20 aperture and a dual LED flash.
