Multiple agencies respond to Mason County school after report of active shooter

There was a scare at a middle school in Mason County today, with reports of a possible active shooter on the campus.

[12:12 p.m.] "Lots of rumors flying around", the Mason County Sheriff's Office tweeted.

When officers arrived, they learned there was no active shooter in the school. "We have not found any injuries as of now". It includes Mason and Kitsap deputies, ATF, and Washington State Patrol.

A middle school student is in custody after reportedly bringing a gun to campus Wednesday, according to the Seattle Times.

The school district quickly confirmed on its Facebook page that there was no active shooter on the campus.
