NEWSBucks County nurse accused of secretly recording patients Email
Lower Makefield police said James Close, who worked at Penn Medicine Dermatology, was arrested on February 13 after a 17-year-old patient noticed a phone on the ground had been recording her while naked. But that was before she saw the cell phone. Close, employed as a licensed practical nurse, was the technician assigned for her treatments.
On this occasion, the girl undressed and entered the light booth as usual.
The naked teenage patient was in a light booth receiving the treatment when she noticed an iPhone on the floor of the booth, according to court records. She could see her nude reflection on the phone, which had been recording for 25 seconds. She was furious at discovering that she was being recorded in the nude and alerted the authorities.
Distressed, the teen brought the phone to the clinic's staff, who contacted the police. An investigation of Close's iPhone showed surreptitious videos of seven women patients and a total of three videos of the teen made on different visits, according to the police affidavit of probable cause.

Four of the women were totally nude in the video clips and one was undressed from the waist down.
On Monday, Lower Makefield police charged Close with 43 crimes for allegedly recording the eight patients at the practice, dating back to January 16. The center would not also reveal how long he'd been with them or if he had had earlier disciplinary issues at the place.
Numerous videos depict victims' private parts and/or bare breasts as they underwent the treatment either nude or in various stages of undress, the affidavit indicates. Along with charges filed in February, authorities have announced 43 additional counts involving the original victim and the seven others.
We are appalled at the actions of this former employee and are cooperating fully with the police as they investigate this very disturbing matter. He is now being held at Bucks County Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail.
